‘The Pacifier’ Lands at Number One
Vin Diesel is officially a box office draw. If he could drive “The Pacifier” to number one, there’s not much he can’t do.
The movie, starring former action star Diesel as a babysitter, earned $30.6 million in its first week, to debut as the highest grossing movie this weekend in North America.
(As we’ve said before, if you keep paying to see these movies, they’re going to keep making them.)
“Be Cool,” the sequel to Get Shorty, starring John Travolta and Andre 3000, opened in second, earning $23.5 million. (A movie with Diesel, a one trick pony, starring as a babysitter you see; one with an all-star cast, not so much?)
The rest of the top 5: Hitch, Diary of a Black Woman, Million Dollar Baby.
