Backstreet Boy Nick Carter is in trouble with the law again. This time, Carter was arrested for allegedly driving under the influence in Southern California on Saturday.

He was stopped by police for violating a traffic law in Huntington Beach, police said. He then underwent a sobriety test.

He was booked for investigation of DUI. His car was impounded.

Carter was released just four hours later. He is to appear before a court within 45 days.

A statement released by Carter’s publicist claimed Carter was not drunk.

“He is on doctor-prescribed medication and was unaware of its interaction possibilities,” read the statement.

In 2002, Carter was arrested at a Florida nightclub for refusing police orders.
