300 Million Downloads and Climbing for iTunes Music Store
Apple continues to soar in the legal download business as its iTunes Music Store passes 300 million songs sold. Furthermore, a song called ‘Across the Universe’, which was released exclusively on iTunes with all proceeds going to the Tsunami survivors, debuted at number 22 on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart.
?We?re honored to offer ?Across the Universe? exclusively on the iTunes Music Store with all proceeds going to tsunami survivors and their families,? said Eddy Cue, Apple?s vice president of Applications.
Earlier this year, Apple announced its 2nd promotion with Pepsi, where individuals have a 1 in 3 chance of winning a free song from the iTunes Music Store.
