Coldplay Album Due in June, World Tour to Follow
UK band Coldplay, who shot to worldwide acclaim with their last album, “A Rush of Blood to the Head,” have announced plans for a new album and a world tour.
They will release their third album, still untitled, in June. They will then begin a world tour in the UK at the end of June.
“We’ve spent a long time in the studio and haven’t played a gig for 18 months so we can’t wait to get out on tour and play our new songs live,” guitarist Jonny Buckland said in a statement.
The album was supposed to be released earlier in the year.
Chris Martin, the group’s singer, has been busy between albums. He married Gwyneth Paltrow and they gave birth to a daughter, which they named Apple, last year. The couple had been rumoured to be going through a “rough patch,” but Paltrow’s representative said that is not the case. “They are extremely happy together.”
Coldplay are currently in New York mixing the album.
