Say It Ain’t So: Blink-182 Go On “Indefinite Hiatus”

The end of Blink-182 may be now. The pop-punk group announced Tuesday that they are going on an “indefinite hiatus,” though have left the door open for a reunion at some point.
A statement released by their management reads, “For over a decade, Blink-182 has toured, recorded and promoted nonstop all while trying to balance relationships with family and friends. To that end, the band has decided to go on an indefinite hiatus to spend some time enjoying the fruits of their labors with loved ones. While there is no set plan for the band to begin working together again, no one knows what tomorrow may bring.”
Their latest album though is likely their last together.
Last week, the band was supposed to perform as part of a tsunami relief concert in Anaheim but pulled out at the last second.
Dave Navarro, playing with his new band Camp Freddy at the event, posted on his online journal, that, “?the big shock came when Blink-182 pulled out. Evidently, they broke up yesterday. … I know how it can get when it’s just not working anymore. … Anyway, best of luck to those guys.”
He later posted another message.
“OK. Here’s the deal. When Blink pulled out of the show, we were told that they had broken up. It made sense to us because it was an important show for an important cause. You’re right. I shouldn’t repeat things that aren’t confirmed and I apologize to the band and their fans. Honestly, it was a mistake. I am glad to hear that the news is untrue.”
Well, the news seems to be true.
