Microsoft’s Bill Gates today announced the creation of Internet Explorer 7.0, a brand new version of Microsoft’s leading web browser. The new software will include built-in security features and anti-spyware software in an effort to slow down the spread of viruses and spyware that specifically exploit the Internet Explorer browser.

Microsoft plans to release a beta version later this year.

Originally, Microsoft did not intend to release IE 7.0, but the company has come under fire recently with the increase in spyware and with the growth of its competition, specifically Firefox.

In the meantime, users can download a beta version of Microsofts AntiSpyware program by visiting http://www.microsoft.com/athome/security/spyware/software/default.mspx.
