R&B singer Houston gouged out his eye after a failed suicide attempt, according to a report from MTV.

Citing sources close to Houston, MTV reports that he tried to jump out of a hotel window in London on Thursday, but was stopped by his security. He was then locked in his hotel room where he gouged out one of his eyes.

Born Houston Summer IV, he was overseas for a few performances.

His debut album “It’s Already Written” was certified gold this summer. Houston had a hit with “I Like That,” featuring Chingy and Nate Dogg, which was also featured on a McDonald’s commercial.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with Houston during this tragic time,” a Capitol spokesperson told MTV.
