Angelina Jolie is furious over reports that she is the reason behind Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston’s separation.

“I’ve been painted as the Wicked Witch of the West and a marriage wrecker. But all I’ve ever been to Brad is a shoulder to cry on,” Jolie said.

Jolie filmed the upcoming movie “Mr. and Mrs. Smith” with Pitt over the summer. When Pitt and Aniston released a statement two weeks ago announcing their split, tabloids speculated that Jolie was the reason. There was a photo published of Jolie and Pitt on the movie’s set holding hands.

“Half the world believes we had an affair and I’m the one to blame for his split. But the truth is I was there to try to help him through his pain,” she said.

“He longs to be a father and he’s been in emotional turmoil for a long time because that hasn’t happened for him.”

The widely reported reason for the split is that Pitt wanted to become a father immediately, while Aniston wanted to concentrate on her movie career. Pitt spent time with Jolie’s adopted son when filming the movie.
