Young Buck Pleads Not Guilty
Young Buck used a court appearance on Friday to promote his album.
Buck, the G-Unit rapper, was in a Los Angeles court room to plead not guilty to assault with a deadly weapon charges, stemming from the Source Awards incident last year that left a man stabbed.
Besides waiving his right to preliminary hearing within 10 days, Young Buck only said “Young Buck, go buy my album” while in court, MTV reports.
His preliminary hearing will start February 18.
He is accused of stabbing Jimmy James Johnson at the Vibe Awards in November. Johnson allegedly approached Dr. Dre and punched him, which led to a bawl that almost forced organizers to end the show. Police used pepper spray to stop the fight.
Johnson pleaded not guilty to punching Dre on Monday.
The New York Post reports that Johnson was paid $5,000 by rap mogul Suge Knight to punch Dre. Knight is a longtime enemy of Dre’s and was ordered to stay away from him as per his parole agreement.
He told police Knight paid him the money and promised to his brother’s financial debut if he punched Dre, the paper reports.
