Just hours after Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston announced they were breaking up, tabloids began speculating if Angelina Jolie was the reason for the split.

One report from News of the World said Jolie had phone sex with Pitt, and Aniston once listened in?either intentionally or not. Pitt and Jolie were photographed holding hands while filming the upcoming movie, “Mr. and Mrs. Smith.”

Jolie today said any rumours linking her and Pitt are false.

“I did not shag Brad Pitt. No, absolutely not. I have not slept with a co-star,” she said, according to the Daily Star.

More speculation from the tabloids say that Pitt and Aniston broke up over a difference of opinion on the subject of becoming parents. Pitt reportedly is eager to have a child, while Aniston wants to focus on her movie career.

The Daily Star reports that Pitt met Jolie’s adopted son, Maddox, which prompted his decision that he wanted children as soon as possible.

“Jen became furious when he pointed out that at 29 Angelina is six years younger than her and is managing to combine motherhood and a successful career,” a “source” told the Daily Star.

People Magazine also weighed in on the Pitt-Jolie potential affair, but said it did not go further than friendship.

Bottom line: chances are none of these stories are true, and unless you see, not read, Aniston and Pitt speaking, don’t believe it.
