Michael Moore has set U.S. drug companies as his next target, and they are taking every precaution necessary not to become embarrassed like George W. Bush.

Moore will be making his next documentary about the health system in the United States, focusing in on pharmaceutical companies. Six drug companies reportedly have issued internal memos warning workers to beware of Moore, the Flint, Michigan native.

“We ran a story in our online newspaper saying Moore is embarking on a documentary and if you see a scruffy guy in a baseball cap, you’ll know who it is,” Stephen Lederer, a spokesman for Pfizer Global Research and Development, told the Houston Chronicle.
That scruffy guy is the usually unshaven Moore, who loves to wear his Michigan hats.

Most memos are advising the employees to alert corporate communication when approached by members of the media or filmmakers, both a possible description of Moore.

It is not uncommon for companies to forbid their employees from talking with the press or filmmakers. They usually need communication from the higher-ups. In this case, they are making sure everyone knows the rules to avoid embarrassment to their companies.

Moore has previously made films exposing President Bush, General Motors, and the gun registry in the U.S.

Moore targeted the drug policies in a sketch on his short-lived television show, the Awful Truth. He showed a man who had troubles with his HMO, and staged a fake funeral to get his point across.
