CD Review: Blade Trinity Soundtrack
Say what you will about “Blade: Trinity,” but what the movie lacks in, well, excitement, the soundtrack makes up for with raw hip hop tracks.
This music appeals to a certain type of hip hop fan. These aren’t the mainstream 50 Cent club bangers, but more along the lines of the classic Wu Tang songs.
And the soundtrack is largely made up of songs performed by Wu Tang members, most likely because Rza co-composed the film’s score and produced five of the soundtrack?s tracks.
The upbeat “I Gotta Get Paid” by Lil’ Flip with Ghostface Killah and Raekwon is an interesting mix of the laidback and up-tempo styles. “Party in the Morgue” by Kool Keith and Thee Undertakerz, a club mix, is a nice transition into the second half of the album which if made up of electronic dance tracks, including the politically charged, yet subtle, “Weapons of Mad Distortion.”
