CBS’ Late Night With Craig Ferguson?
CBS has replaced Craig Kilborn, the late night host who left the 12:30 a.m. slot in August. After several on-screen auditions for the job, Craig Ferguson appears to be the new host of the “Late Late Show”.
Ferguson is unlike all other late night hosts for one main reason: He’s British.
His was a top comic in Britain, where he starred in “The Ferguson Theory” and “The Craig Ferguson Show.” He moved to Los Angeles in 1995 and a year later was cast as Nigel Wick on “The Drew Carey Show.”
Drew Carey coincidently was also up for Kilborn’s old job.
Ferguson also wrote the scripts for “Saving Grace” and “I’ll Be There,” which starred Charlotte Church.
His latest role is in the latest Jim Carey flick, “Lemony Snicket’s A Series of Unfortunate Events.”
Michael Ian Black, comedian D.L. Hughley, and MTV VJ Damien Fahey were the three other finalists.
Ferguson officially begins his new job, following David Letterman, on January 3, 2005.
