Cheers Actress Overdoses
According to reports, Shelly Long was rushed to hospital on Nov. 16 after overdosing on painkillers in a suicide attempt.
Long, 55, who played Diane Chambers on Cheers, has been suffering from depression since breaking-up with her husband of 22 years, the New York Post reports.
Long was discharged last week.
Her publicist said she takes painkillers to help an injury she suffered on the set of Cheers.
“She had a bad reaction to the extra pill and went to the hospital,” Regina Miyamoto told the Post, though would not say if she tried to kill herself.
