Four More Years for Bush
John Kerry conceded defeat to President George W. Bush Wednesday afternoon.
It appeared Bush would be the victor in his quest to win re-election last night, but the race in Ohio was too close to offer a definite prediction.
Kerry called Bush at 11 a.m. Wednesday morning to congratulate the President.
In a speech around 2 p.m. ET, Kerry said the country needs to unite.
“We talked about the division in our country and the need, desperate need, for unity,” he said, regarding his call to Bush. “Today, I hope we can begin the healing.”
Bush received 51 percent of the popular vote, about 3 more than Kerry.
