The Catherine Zeta-Jones stalker case is delayed, after the judge ordered that the accused be examined by a psychiatrist.

The examination on Dawnette Knight, 32, must take place before September 15, the Los Angeles judge ordered, to see if she is fit to stand trial.

Reports indicated that Knight, who is accused of making death threats towards the Oscar winning actress, tried to kill herself in her cell two weeks ago. Her lawyers even said Zeta-Jones drove her to this madness.

Knight remains in jail, being held on $1 million bail.

She faces a 25-count charge of stalking Zeta-Jones, and is said to be obsessed with her husband, actor Michael Douglas.

The case was suspended on July 30, when officials had a hard time waking Knight up from her cell. She took two sleeping pills, which her lawyer said were to help her get a decent night’s rest. He later said she tried to kill herself.

She was taken to hospital, but was later returned to her cell. The case continued, but she could not stay awake, so the judge suspended that day’s hearing. However, the whole case was delayed when it became a bigger issue.
