Nokia Selects Loudeye For Music Deal
Earlier this month Motorola and Apple announced that iTunes would be released for Motorola cell phones and users would be able to listen to their purchased music directly on their cell phones. Today, Nokia announced that it has reached an agreement with Loudeye to provide music capabilities on its cell phones.
“This agreement with Nokia represents a significant strategic opportunity for Loudeye to work with the leading mobile communications company in the world to develop an advanced wireless music platform,” said Jeff Cavins, Loudeye’s president and chief executive officer. “We are very excited about our relationship with Nokia and look forward to sharing more details in the future.”
It will be interesting to see who other major phone companies such as Sony, Sharp and Panasonic select as their choice for such a deal.
