‘Super Freak’ Rick James Dies

Rick James, known equally for his funk music and drug and legal problems, was found dead Friday, according to police.
A police spokesperson said James had a “natural death.” He was 56. Officials later confirmed that he died in his sleep on Friday.
James, whose real name was James Johnson, was addicted to crack-cocaine, and spent time in jail for assault and false imprisonment.
Comedian Dave Chappelle portrayed James in recent months on his television program, continuously uttering his catchphrase, “I’m Rick James, bitch!”
“Mary Jane,” “Give it to Me Baby,” and “Super Freak” were some of his hits.
He leaves behind three children and two grandchildren.
