Depp & Burton at it Again
It seems as though actor Johnny Depp and director Tim Burton can?t get enough of each other as they reunite for a 4th time to remake the classic film, ?Charlie and the Chocolate Factory?. (aka Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory) The release date is due out this time next year although distributor Warner Bros. might push it back to a June release instead.
The cast is made up of many unknown British actors; most notable is David Kelly (Grandpa Joe) who is known for his role in as Michael O?Sullivan in the 1998 comedy hit, ?Waking Ned Devine?. With Burton at the helm and Depp starring as Willy Wonka himself, the perception by many is that this film will have a dark look synonymous with Burton?s crafty and original style from his previous films.
The difference with this particular remake is that Burton wishes to aim to be more faithful to the original book by Roald Dahl. Fans can?t rest assured that this picture is not a musical (unlike ?71?s Wonka) and will involve a darker yet magical perspective.
Don?t worry fans, the oompa loompas will make it to the big screen once again.
