Rising punk band Yellowcard will be busy on August 29. The Ventura-based quintet has been announced as one of the performers at the MTV Video Music Awards.

Yellowcard are also nominated for two awards. Their video for “Ocean Avenue” is up for Best New Artist and the MTV2 Award.

Jay-Z leads all nominees with six, followed by Beyonce, No Doubt, Usher, and Outkast, who each have five.

The VMAs will be handed out for the first time from Miami, Florida, where some artists will arrive by boat.
