American Idol host Ryan Seacrest will have his show taken off the air after Sept 17th, citing poor ratings.

“I am proud of my team who worked tirelessly every day,” Seacrest said in a statement. “I wouldn’t have changed anything about this entire experience and I look forward to building my business within Twentieth Television.”

Seacrest will stay on as host of American Idol 4, which will debut in January 2005, as well as host of his weekly Los Angelas radio show and his weekly countdown, American Top 40.
