Jackson Granted Delay, Trial to Start in 2005
The sexual molestation trial against Michael Jackson has been delayed until 2005. Jackson’s lawyers asked for the delay yesterday, before prosecutors alleged Jackson of intoxicating and imprisoning a young teen.
A Santa Barbara judge today agreed to request, delaying the start of the trial to January 31, 2005.
Jackson, who is free on bail, was not present. The case was to begin in September.
Prosecutors said Jackson gave alcohol to the teen. They also allege Jackson of flying the boy’s family around, and forcing them videotape messages that say Jackson is a good person.
