Courtney Love Sentenced to Mandatory Drug Treatment
The Courtney Love saga continues. The rocker was in a Los Angeles court on Tuesday, and ordered to enrol in a drug rehabilitation program for 18 months, the duration of her probation.
Love will have to go through random drug tests to make sure she is on track. She will also be in substance abuse counselling.
This was her first public appearance in two weeks. She was last seen on a stretcher going into an ambulance outside her apartment in New York. At the time, she missed a court date in L.A., prompting the judge to issue a warrant for her arrest, making Love a fugitive.
“I’ve got to stop drinking,” she told reporters on Tuesday, “It’s going to be fun.”
Love will avoid spending time in jail if she completes the drug program successfully. The case would then be removed from her record. She still faces three other cases against her.
