RealNetworks Announces Harmony; Play Songs on Multiple Devices
RealNetworks is bringing choice to music users who use MP3 players that are currently locked to a single online music service. Harmony is RealNetworks new software that allows users to play encrypted music files on other MP3 players, including Apple’s popular iPod device.
Harmony will ship inside RealPlayer 10.5, which will reach beta status on Tuesday.
iPod users will now be able to purchase music from RealNetworks music store instead of just iTunes. Other devices that will play the format include products such as the Dell DJ and Creative’s Nomad devices.
