DVD Review: Peter Pan
The invention of the DVD meant a lot of things to movie watchers such as better quality and the ability to find a location in the movie much faster. One of the best features that the DVD possesses is bonus material that would be too complicated for a VHS tape. Often, DVDs include behind the scenes footage, music videos, or other interesting tools. The release of “Peter Pan” encompasses every possible feature they could think of.
The movie itself is a fairly redone version of the classic story of the young boy from Never-neverland who never ever wanted to grow up. It has brilliant special effects, flawless flying sequences, and other ways that wow the audience into believing what they are seeing is actually happening.
The bonus features provide hours upon hours of extra viewing. How did they make Tinker Bell? How was Peter able to battle his shadow? How on earth can little kids fly? These questions plus tons more can be answered by spending some time going through the bonus material. Additionally, Sarah Ferguson documents the history of Peter Pan, and the actor who played Hook shows you some of his footage that he took on the set. The bonus material is not presented with a simple list, but rather through a creatively designed menus. Each section has its own “land” and each has several features. The design is very child-friendly, while the features are interesting to those of all ages.
