J.K. Rowling, one of the richest authors in the world, said she is expecting her third child. The Harry Potter author told fans on her web site that they need not worry. The sixth Harry Potter book will not be delayed because of the child.

“I always wanted three children so I could not be happier,” she wrote. “Book six remains well on track and, fingers crossed of course, I don’t foresee any baby-related delays or interruptions.”

Fans are anticipating the release of “Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince.” Rowling said she does not know when she will release the sixth book, but she has written a lot and “I really like it.”

The first five books have sold a combined 250 million copies worldwide.

The 38-year-old created the web site to keep fans up to date, but up until this point, has not written anything that personal. She created the web site without the help of publicists or her publishing company.

Rowling has a 10-year-old daughter and a 15-month-old son.
