Britney Spears is angry over a front-page photo that appeared on Thursday’s New York Post, with the headline “Boozer Britney.” The photo showed her drinking out of a bottle.

The Post claimed the bottle was alcohol, and that Spears was freely consuming the substance on the drink.

Spears claims the drink was merely ginseng, an herbal substance to boost her energy.

A clerk at the Los Angeles store that Spears bought the drink is backing the singer up, saying all she bought was Panax Red Ginseng Extractum and a can of Red Bull.

Now, Spears is threatening the paper with a lawsuit, and she’s demanding cash. Spears wants nothing less than a retraction and money.

“Ms. Spears intends to file a lawsuit against the New York Post and Bill Hoffmann, the writer of the article, unless the paper immediately issues an appropriate retraction, apology and financial settlement,” said her lawyer, Martin Singer.

Spears also says she’s not pregnant, another claim several papers published.
