American Idol Increases Contestant Age Limit
If you missed the first 3 seasons of American Idol because you were too old to enter, you’re in luck, as the show has decided to increase the age limit from 26 to 28. The minimum age still remains at 16.
FOX Entertainment says the reason for the increase was due to the fact that the company felt too many talented people were told they couldn’t try out.
American Idol 4 auditions begin August 4th in Cleveland and finish October 5th in San Francisco, passing through Washington DC, Orlando, St. Louis, New Orleans, Las Vegas and Alaska. Idol 4 will air in January 2005.
