Rapper Nelly will star in an upcoming Adam Sandler movie and actress Lindsay Lohan has signed a long-term recording contract with Tommy Mottola’s Casablanca Records, entertainment outlets announced today.

No, the reports aren’t mixed up.

Recording artist Nelly will debut his acting skill on the big screen as a running back in the remake of Burt Reynolds’ 1974 movie, “The Longest Yard,” which is scheduled for a May 2005 release. The picture about a prison football game that pits the guards against the convicts will also star Reynolds and comedian Chris Rock, according to Entertainment Tonight.

No specific details about 18-year-old Lohan’s contract with Casablanca were available but Mottola, who is currently married to Mexican crossover singer Thalia, and who was previously married to another star he discovered, Mariah
Carey, definitely knows the music biz and pop divas.

To preview Lohan’s voice, she can be heard on the soundtracks of three of her hit movies: “Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen,” “Freaky Friday” and “The Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement.”
