Eric Douglas, the youngest song of Kirk Douglas and brother of Michael, was found dead inside a New York apartment building on Tuesday, police told the AP.

Douglas, 46, had battled substance abuse problems for years. There were no signs of foul play, reports the AP.

A spokesperson for the family said they were “very shocked and saddened.”

Douglas was an actor with limited success.
