In May, Mary-Kate and Ashley became the first twins featured in the now-famous “Got Milk?” campaign with a milk moustache above their lips, but this week, the ad was pulled.

The move came after two tabloids recently reported that Mary-Kate Olsen suffered from a cocaine addiction and not an eating disorder as was suspected due to the 18-year-old’s slight appearance. Mary-Kate was admitted into a treatment facility late last month for a “health-related
issue.”

The New York Post reported that the Milk Processor Education Program stopped running the ads “out of sensitivity for her situation.”

The ads from the national campaign use superstar athletes, actors, singers and performers to promote the healthy benefits of drinking milk.

A May 7 press release from the Milk PEP had touted the twins, who recently graduated from high school and plan to attend New York University, as graduating with “milk honors.”

In that release, Mary-Kate was quoted as saying: “We wanted to appear in this ad because we love the campaign and we want to help make sure our fans are healthy like us.”
