Fantasia Barrino, who suddenly is now just “Fantasia,” debuted at Number 1 this week on Billboard’s Hot 100 with her debut single “I Believe.”
Barrino is the first artist to debut at the top spot with a first single, and the second to debut at number one. Clay Aiken’s “This is the Night” would have become the first debut single, but he technically was part of an American Idol cast-sung “God Bless the USA” which debuted at number one a few weeks earlier.
Barrino continues working on her debut album.
