Fahrenheit 9/11 Red Hot at Box Office
Michael Moore’s newest documentary has been said to be the first of its kind to depict the behind-the-scenes events surrounding the tragedy of 9/11 on a political landscape. His 2002 box-office hit, “Bowling For Columbine” earned Moore an Oscar while generating 21.5 million dollars in box-office sales thus setting a record for the top-grossing documentary of all time, until now. “Fahrenheit 9/11″ has quickly taken in 21.8 million in its first weekend and according to the Associated Press, the film became the first documentary ever to debut at number one with total revenue making the film the top-grossing documentary in history.
The dramatic piece blew by the Wayans? Brothers newest comedy, “White Chicks,” as well as “Dodgeball,” “The Terminal,” and the latest “Harry Potter” sequel. Not bad for only being projected onto 868 theaters across the country.
