As expected, Britney Spears has cancelled her upcoming North American tour due to her knee injury. The Onyx Hotel tour was to resume on June 22 but Spears suffered severe damage to her knee while shooting a music video last week.

She will be in a hard brace for about six weeks and will require eight to 12 weeks of physical therapy after that, a spokesperson said.

Doctors are expecting Spears to be out for at least four months.

Spears underwent arthroscopic surgery last week.
