An 80-year-old man skydiving is a story in itself, but in this case, it’s worthy of the front page headlines because it was former U.S. President George Bush. For his 80th birthday on Sunday, Bush wore a black and yellow jump suit and skydived, strapped to a U.S. Army paratrooper.

Bush flew over his Texas library and waved to thousands of people who gathered below.

He had done the same feat for his 75th birthday. He had planned to jump by himself, but because of the temperature and location of the clouds, Bush jumped in tandem

Bush was dropped from 13,000 feet and fell at a rate of about 120 miles per hour.

“This was a day of joy and wonder for the Bush family, and certainly for the old guy,” he said, according to Reuters..
