“I’m Rick James, bitch!” Dave Chappelle has never said anything so true. The comedian, who has portrayed James on his “Chappelle’s Show,” is in early discussions to play the musician in an upcoming film, “Memoirs of a Super Freak,” according to the Hollywood Reporter.

Lorenzo Di Bonaventura is currently trying to gain the rights to the film, which would be produced by Paramount.

James last released an album in 1997, and is currently touring.
