Someone tell Jay-Z that the meaning of retired means to stop working. True to his word, Jay-Z has not released new material since his “last album” the Black Album dropped last year, but that’s not stopping the rumour mill.
Last week, he was reportedly close to signing with Aftermath and working with Dr. Dre.
Now, it appears he wants to form a supergroup. Shyne, who used to be P. Diddy’s prot?g? before being sentenced to a long jail term, told Hot 97 that he was contacted by Jay-Z about forming an all-Brooklyn supergroup, also featuring Foxy Brown.
That supergroup will have to wait. Shyne still has a while to go before his term is up, but he says he hopes to be released early in 2005.
