Fantasia Wins American Idol

Fantasia Barrino is the third American Idol.
The 19-year-old North Carolina native narrowly beat out Diana DeGarmo, as announced on Idol Wednesday night.
Kelly Clarkson and Ruben Studdard, the show’s two past winners, performed on the show. Other celebrities in attendance included Ray Romano, Sharon Osbourne, and Jennifer Love Hewitt, who hosted the first half hour.
