After last year’s atrocious Juno pre-show, you’d think CTV would make sure this year’s was much improved. Congratulations, it improved?but barely.

Here are some of the blunders:

-Ben Mulroney asked Alanis Morissette who she was “wearing,” to which she responded that she was not sure. “That’s very Canadian of you,” Mulroney told her. Mulroney, take your own advice: nobody cares who they’re wearing. He even asked Sarah McLachlan’s husband.

-When did Ryan Malcolm join the CTV staff? He looked a little sheepish doing interviews with fans.

-Alice Cooper came walking down the carpet, passing Ben Mulroney who said to keep walking. Cooper looked puzzled and got as far as Tanya Kim. “Isn’t this crazy!” she kept saying. Cooper said he’s looking forward to seeing Rush perform. He’s still waiting.

-Quote that I wish I never heard: “I got skillz boy, I got skillz.” (Mulroney to Sam Roberts)

-Avril Lavigne arrived and we’re watching Audrey and Farley from Canadian Idol. Makes sense. By the way, Farley’s wearing Gucci!

-Kim says “Hey” to Jack Layton, and continues finding some C-list artists. She later apologized for any mistakes she made on the show. She was not bad! A little outgoing, but fun to watch. Mulroney, where’s my apology?

Thoughts on the Junos:

-Anne Murray is looking more like Clay Aiken every day. Hey, it works for him.

-The best performances: Nelly Furtado, Barenaked Ladies, and Billy Talent.

-Worst: everything country. Hey, I’m biased. Sue me.

-Biggest applause of the night: Alice Cooper, the American, who was honouring Bob Ezrin, who has had his most success in America. Fitting.

-Worst host of the night: Alanis Morissette. She tried, and credit to her, but the Barenaked Ladies were 100 times better.
