American Idol Reject William Hung to Release Album in April
William Hung, American Idol fans’ guilty pleasure, will release an album on April 6.

Who is William Hung? He is better known as the “She Bangs Guy” who tried out for Idol, thinking he had a good shot, but is perhaps the worst singer in the world. Koch Records thinks he has enough fans so they gave the Hong Kong-born UC Berkeley civil engineering student a $25,000 record deal.
He even came back to American Idol last week to perform “She Bangs” with backup dancers.
Hung’s album will be called “The True Idol,” and will feature “She Bangs;” another Ricky Martin song, “Shake Your Bon Bon;” and Elton John’s “Rocket Man” amongst others. The CD will also include a 40-minute DVD, featuring behind-the-scenes of Hung’s studio recording sessions, scenes from a “day in the life” with William and fan question and answer commentary.
As well, Fuse (the music television station) will air a “She Bangs” music video by Hung. On top of that, Hung will perform the song on Leno on April 8.
To paraphrase a Yogi Berra line, Ricky Martin is spinning in his grave.
