Five for Fighting Speaks With andPOP
How do you follow-up a song that touched the masses during the post-September 11, 2001 period, was nominated for a Grammy, and helped launch your career? That is the difficult task John Ondrasik, the man behind Five for Fighting and the hit “Superman,” was faced with.
“The Battle for Everything,” Ondrasik and Five for Fighting’s third album, was released earlier this month to critical-acclaim. The first single, “100 Years,” is already spinning on radio stations across the U.S. and Canada, ensuring Ondrasik that he won’t go down in history as a one-hit wonder.
Ondrasik spoke to andPOP before performing a 1-hour acoustic show in Toronto. Watch the interview to hear what he says about “Superman,” the new album, his love for hockey, and much more.
