Katy Rose Speaks With andPOP
Katy Rose is a young blonde singer, but she’s no Britney Spears. She writes her own songs and speaks her mind, but Rose is no Avril Lavigne. In fact, after listening to her debut album, “Because I Can,” you will notice how Rose is unlike any pop singer on the market.
The California-born teen recorded her album with her father (who was a touring keyboardist with Crosby, Stills, and Nash and Art Garfunkel) in her home recording studio. Her album was released in late January, and features the hit single, “Overdrive.”
Rose sat down with andPOP on a recent trip to Toronto, and talked about the debut, her critics, making a second album, and much more. Plus, she was almost brought to tears when she opened up about the loyalty of her fans.
