The Simpsons Movie in 2006?
The stars must be aligned because several reports indicate that there could be a Simpsons movie in the works.
“We are in the very early stages of developing an idea for the movie,” said the studio’s animation chief, Chris Meledandri.
Variety said at least seven writers, including Groening and executive producers James L. Brooks and Al Jean, are at work on a script.
On Tuesday, producer Mike Reiss told DVDFanatic.com that, “It’s a reality after being just sort of this phantom idea. I think it is really gonna happen.”
He said he could see the movie debuting in the Christmas of 2006.
