JC Chasez: NFL ‘Smearing’ My Name
The NFL told JC Chasez he would no longer be needed for the Pro Bowl’s halftime show this Sunday. Now Chasez is accusing the NFL of “smearing” his name.
“What they are doing is hypocritical and it’s stupid,” he told Access Hollywood. “They are smearing my name and I don’t appreciate it.”
Chasez is upset that he is feeling the consequences of ‘N Sync bandmate Justin Timberlake’s actions from last weekend.
“Just because I’m a member of ‘N Sync and Justin was up there, don’t punish me because I wasn’t there.”
The NFL offered Chasez the invitation to still perform the national anthem, but he declined.
“I am not good enough to perform at your halftime show and represent myself and take on the consequences of my own actions?” he asked. “But you will have me represent my entire country in front of the entire world?”
