CBS ‘Extremely Disappointed’ by Janet’s Halftime Show
CBS has issued a statement about the halftime show, where Janet Jackson’s top was ripped off by Justin Timberlake.
“We were extremely disappointed by elements of the MTV-produced Halftime show,” said NFL Executive Vice President Joe Browne.
“They were totally inconsistent with assurances our office was given about the show. It’s unlikely that MTV will produce another Super Bowl halftime.”
The network has said it has received several calls to complain about the show before the game ended.
CBS cut away from the shot within 2 seconds, and the announcers did not make any reference to the incident.
“I was in shock,” an angry mother wrote in an email to andPOP. “Was that the point? I did not think I needed to tell my children to leave the room for the halftime show. What a mistake.”
