Captain Kangaroo Actor Dies

Bob Keeshan, who played “Captain Kangaroo” on the children’s television show, died Friday. He was 76.
His family said he died of a long illness.
Keeshan, who lived in Hartford, Vt., won six Emmy Awards for his portrayal of the fun-loving character. He was “Captain Kangaroo” for 36 years.
His wife, Jeanne, died in 1990. He is survived by three children.
