Michael Tyler, the rapper known as Mystikal, was sentenced to six years in jail on Thursday after pleading guilty to sexual battery.
Mystikal, 33, and two bodyguards were accused of forcing his hairstylist to perform sexual acts after accusing her of stealing $80,000 worth of his checks, a charge she denied.
“The court is convinced that the defendant believes he is above the law and can take the law into his own hands,” Judge Tony Marabella said.
The bodyguards, Leland “Pokie” Ellis and Vercy “V” Carter received three and four years in jail, respectively.
A former member of the US Army, Mystikal is best known for his song “Shake It Fast.” His album, “Tarantula,” was nominated for a Grammy in 2003.
