L.A. Reid Leaves Arista Records
Antonio “L.A.” Reid, the man who signed Pink and Avril Lavigne, has left Arista Records, nearly four years after becoming president and CEO of the company.
The reason for his departure was not stated in a press release.
Reid oversaw the projects of Outkast, Usher, Whitney Houston and countless others since becoming the label’s boss in May of 2000.
According to Reuters, Arista has had two years of “significant losses.”
Michael Smellie, chief operating officer of parent company BMG, will take over Arista for now.
