Despite earlier reports, Daniel Bedingfield is still in a New Zealand hospital, recovering from a car crash.
According to the Associated Press, a hospital spokesperson said he could remain in New Zealand for several months to recover from injuries and he will likely be released from hospital at the end of the week.
“He’s damaged vertebrae in his neck but it hasn’t affected his motor or sensory capabilities. He’s a fairly lucky guy,” said Alison Lees, a Whangarei Base Hospital spokeswoman.
His manager said he will have to alter his album plans.
“He’s happy. He just thanks God he’s alive. He had half a new album in the can before he left for New Zealand. We’ll just have to push stuff back,” Neale Easterby told the AP.
Bedingfield was pulled out of his Jeep Cherokee on Friday by firefighters. He was returning from a music festival when the car rolled on a rural road.
