The voice of top-40 radio is going to be replaced. Casey Kasem, who has hosted “American Top-40″ since 1970, will have his last broadcast aired on January 4.

Ryan Seacrest, host of American Idol, will take over starting January 10.

Kasem just signed a contract to continue hosting “American Top 20″ for adult contemporary stations.
